Opportunities
We are currently accepting applications for the 2026-2027 spine fellowship position and will conduct interviews on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Laboratory and clinical research opportunities are available and the completion of a research project is required during the fellowship. Applicants must have completed a neurosurgery residency program to be considered. All eligible incoming fellows must obtain a Utah Medical License, a Utah Controlled Substance License, and a Federal DEA Certificate prior to beginning their fellowship at the University of Utah.
International Applicants
International applicants must be qualified for the fellowship program according to the same criteria used for all applicants to the program. The Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) requires applicants to have completed two years of training in an ACGME accredited program to issue a Utah medical license. In addition, international graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate before they can be considered. A J-1 Visa (or citizenship or permanent residency or approval of application for permanent residency) is required for all non-US citizens in a training program who provide patient care.
